GOOD NEWS
Yesterday we found out that Brendan will be having his transplant at Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick. Brendan is booked in for late December early January.
Brendan, Richard and myself will be visiting the hospital for the day on November the 29th. This gives us the opportunity to meet the doctors, the transplant coordinator, the social worker , see the ward and visit Ronald Mc Donald House.
There has been a good transplant match (a 5-6 Match) for Brendan and marrow donation is happening quietly, with us knowing very little of what is happening in relation to the donation.
Brendan is pleased that he will be going to hospital after Christmas so that he can attended all the Christmas parties set up by the Kids with Cancer Associations. He is going to see Santa a lot over the next few weeks.
As a family we have been able to get a holiday house though the SA Childhood Cancer Association near Anna's family for Christmas and the kids are excited that we get to have sometime together before we go to Sydney.
We see Brendan's doctor next Friday for his check up, we will also make a time for Brendan's marrow to be harvested and placed in storage and at the same time he will have a central line placed in his chest in preparation for the transplant.
We will keep you all informed as things progress
Cheers from Brendan and family.
